Medina was born in Monterrey, Mexico before moving to San Antonio and attending Robert E. Lee High School, where he graduated in 2007. Medina went on to attend Our Lady of the Lake University in San Antonio, playing soccer for the Saints.
The 23-year-old defender spent time playing in Mexico before his tenure at OLLU, and then went on to play for Kitsap Pumas of the USL’s Player Development League in Bremerton, Washington.
“Being from Monterrey, Mexico, Daniel’s heritage really blends in with our scope of our team and our community,” said Hankinson. “He’s also very well known in the San Antonio soccer community, being a local player. He brings great feet and intelligence to the game as well as a settling tempo.”
Medina joins midfielder Sean Arters and Goalkeeper Jeremy Vuolo as recent signings for the Scorpions who open their season on April 6th at Minnesota United FC.
