Scorpions President and GM Howard Cornfield updates fans on all things San Antonio Scorpions and Toyota Field in anticipation for the season opener tomorrow in Minnesota.

“Hello fans! Firstly, I wanted to comment on the incredible turnout we had at The Lion and Rose Park North for our season ticket pick-up party. The line snaked out the door all evening, and the fans were in full force. Your support continues to be what drives this club forward. Our players and staff were excited to hang out with the fans, and we look forward to doing it again soon. If you weren’t able to get your tickets yesterday, feel free to stop by our Meet Your Seat event on Saturday from 12:00 to 3:00 pm and pick up your tickets there. You may also stop by to purchase season tickets, or take a free tour of the stadium!

On Saturday we play our first game of the NASL season against Minnesota United FC and everyone in the office is buzzing about the opener. We are hosting a watch party at the Lion and Rose Sonterra where Scorpions staff and the players who didn’t travel will be watching. We will be cheering on the team and we hope we see all of you out there.

Please also make sure to come out to the FREE stadium rehearsal at Toyota Field on Wednesday April 10th. The squad will be scrimmaging while my staff and the staff of Toyota Field will have a chance to get used to their new surroundings. This is an excellent opportunity for us to show the team the kind of support they are going to have all season, so we hope you come loud and proud.

Lastly, we are very excited about our new television deal with KSAT 12. This is a deal that will elevate soccer in the community, and our name will continue to grow. We are also very appreciative of KSAT and their support for Soccer for a Cause. They have shown true excitement in bringing awareness to our cause for the special needs community. This television deal is just another step in our process, but we are proud to say it is a big one.

All the best, and Go Scorpions tomorrow!

Howard.
