“It was great to get on the scoreboard for the first time this season last Saturday at Toyota Field. We are not pleased that it took that long to score our first goal of the season, but we are happy that we were able to do it in front of our home crowd. The support from the fans against Atlanta was at its best, and you could tell that the players fed off of the energy from the stadium.
Now we are aiming for our first win in Carolina this weekend. Carolina is a good team and is near the top of the standings right now, so a win could go a long way for us. The players are working hard and putting in extra shifts in training to prepare to pick up three points on Saturday.
It was announced recently that we would play either FC Tucson or Phoenix FC in the US Open Cup when we enter in the second round. We are excited to enter into this historic competition again. The Cup remains a major priority for our club, as it represents a championship on the national level. We treat every opponent the same in terms of preparation, so we will train hard to be ready for our match on the 21st.”
Cheers,
TH
