The San Antonio Scorpions/CE have joined forces to provide the best players in the City the opportunity to be a part of the US Soccer Development Academy Program in the U14 U16 and U18 age-groups as a part of the newly formed San Antonio Scorpions Youth Academy. This now gives San Antonio soccer players a clear path through the youth game to the professional game.
The San Antonio Scorpions continue the search for their first win of the season along with their first goal. San Antonio will host the Atlanta Silverbacks in the second ever game in Toyota Field this Saturday at 7:30pm. Atlanta currently sits third in the NASL standings and will present a challenge for the Scorpions defense with their ability to score goals.
It’s easy to admire a sports stadium from afar and it’s even easier to enjoy an experience in a certain venue during an actual sporting event. But how does a stadium, like for instance Toyota Field, provide a flawless entertainment experience to fans? That’s where Toyota Field General Manager, Marc Solis comes in.
The Scorpions lost their second consecutive game while failing to score for their third straight match, despite creating a number of chances against FC Edmonton. Edmonton midfielder Shaun Saiko converted a first half penalty after a foul from Kevin Harmse in the box, to give the Eddies a 1-0 lead that would hold for the rest of the game.
The San Antonio Scorpions travel north across the border to face Canadian side, FC Edmonton, looking for their first win and first goals of the season. The Scorpions have been held scoreless in their first two NASL matches, drawing once and losing 2-0 in their Toyota Field home opener on April 13th.
Just two months ago, Scorpions’ 25-year old goalkeeper Jeremy Vuolo suddenly retired from the game of soccer. He no longer had a passion for the game like he once had when he was 12-years old, when it was still his dream to play professionally. His dream had changed and had taken a back seat to his spiritual life and his relationship with God.
